Welcome Julian HBK!

After teasing us for a few days Julian was born in our home on Friday August 26 at 9:29pm.  Weighing in at 6.5 lbs and totaling 20 inches long.  Ninety-Seven years earlier on the same date, Julian's Great Grandfather, Raul de Velasco, was born in Camaguey, Cuba. Over twenty years later, Raul married Emilia Alvarez who is Julian's older sister's namesake. Julian's middle names are the maiden names of his grandmothers.

Julian is healthy and strong and so far has been a total pleasure. He was born with his eyes wide open and screaming.  He seems to have big feet with long fingers and toes. He has dark green eyes and brown hair on his head for now.  Joanna and I are recovering and catching sleep when we can.  Emilia is a bit jealous but is no doubt a very proud big sister.
